On rembobine... 1960-70, la musique Soul et R&B américaine vit au rythme de Stax et Motown, deux labels légendaires et concurrents basés à Memphis et Detroit.  Ces machines à tubes ont fait connaître au monde entier un son et des pointures comme Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes pour Stax ou Stevie Wonder, Jackson Five pour Motown.
